On January 11th, we had a student teacher start in our room. Her name is Lauren Edwards and she comes to us from Clarke University. Over the next 6 weeks, she will be working with your child to get a true experience of what it is like to teach. We welcome her with open arms as I myself( Nicole) was a Clarke grad! If you have any questions, please let us know!

The students made a Thanksgiving feast today. They prepared turkey, corn, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and buns. Don't forget the dessert- puppy chow and JELLO cake! The students also put on a Thanksgiving play called T'was the Night Before Thanksgiving. Those that participated did a GREAT job! Reading is an essential skill that all students should enjoy and love. We work hard in Room 120 to instill the love of reading in our students by making lessons hands-on and authentic.
The students had the opportunity to cut and carve a pumpkin. They loved the gooey guts! They loved the staff members costumes even more! M&M'S! Yummy. The students had a great time celebrating Red Ribbon Week. Each day they got to dress up. Here is a glimpse of some of the dress up days! There was also a door contest...and we WON! Check out our 'Drugs are Tricks Not Treats' door. On Thursday we traveled to Vesperman Farms. The kids had a blast looking at the animals, feeding the goats, going through the corn maze, riding on the hay wagon, playing the corn sand box, and racing ducks. Each student got to pick out their own pumpkin, and got to try a fresh Apple Cider donut! Where has the time gone?! It's that time again...the end of the school year. Devin will be moving on to High School next year. We will miss his bubbly personality and the ability to always put a smile on everyone's face. Of course to celebrate we had his favorite, Pepsi and Cheetos! :) Good Luck on your next adventure! Congratulations Devin! We couldn't have asked for a better day to take a field trip to the farm. The kids got to see and pet the cows, play with the new puppy, and even enjoy a little ride on the gator. The students enjoyed a picnic lunch and an ice cream treat to end the day! Take a look at our fun day! What a beautiful day to be swinging from the trees! The 8th graders took a trip to Four Mounds Rope Course. They had a blast using teamwork to accomplish very physical tasks! Happy 8th Birthday to our little miss Hailey. She sure knows how to brighten up a room....and loves FROZEN of course! |
